Anna Kendrick skirted multiple questions about working with Blake Lively for Another Simple Favor.
Kendrick, 39, attended the SXSW premiere of her and Lively’s new film on Friday, March 7. While on the red carpet, Kendrick was asked how it was to work with Lively, 37, again after A Simple Favor premiered in 2018.
“Oh, you know,” Kendrick quipped to Entertainment Tonight before walking off to take a selfie with a fan.
Meanwhile, the outlet asked Lively the same question about Kendrick and she had a more cheerful response.
“Why? What happened? I did ayahuasca and the last year of my life has been gone,” she deadpanned before hyping up Another Simple Favor. “But I hear the movie is amazing.”
While rumors have swirled that Kendrick and Lively did not get along while working together on the first movie, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that isn’t the case now.
“There aren’t any issues between Blake and Anna right now,” the insider explained last month, noting that both actresses “really love” the forthcoming sequel and planned to “be doing press together.”

However, the source added that the women were disappointed “to see all the hate online” after the Another Simple Favor poster dropped. Lively and Kedrick “want fans to focus on the film and not any outside drama,” per the insider.
Another Simple Favor is Lively’s first movie release since her ongoing legal drama with Baldoni. In December 2024, Lively filed a lawsuit against her It Ends With Us costar accusing him of sexual harassment and attempting to launch a smear campaign against her.
Baldoni has denied the allegations and filed his own lawsuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds and her publicist in January, citing defamation among other claims. The legal matter is ongoing and is scheduled to go to trial next year.
